A Message from our President:

Welcome to our Web site!

It is with great pleasure for me to introduce you to the G.T.E.V. Schlierachtaler Stamm Inc. I hope you'll take some time to learn more about us and what we do as you explore our website.

"Treu dem Guten Alten Bauch"
Year 2005 marks the 77th Anniversary since the founding of our Schuhplattler verien in New York City in 1928. The mission of our clubs founders continues to grow and each year becomes stronger as we foster our commitment to our club motto-"Treu dem Guten Alten Brauch" (True to the Good Old Traditions). The dedication of our membership continues to strive and upholds the spirit of Bavarian culture and traditions in their everyday lives in America.

"Building the Future on the Strength of our Past"
Our founding members, along with the many who have joined our organization during the many years have worked very hard to firmly anchor the Schlierachtaler along with Bavarian heritage, traditions, culture, values, and ideas and values solidly within the melting pot of everyday America life.

Visitors to New York City from all around the world who may had the opportunity to visit us and see us in tracht performing the schuhplattler are amazed on our, as we remain steadfast to the traditional aspect of the costume, dance, and music.

My wife Marie and I have been associated with the Schlierachtaler for over 50-years, as we look back, we are most proud of our organizations accomplishments, its leadership role within the German-American community, and also on the hard work of our members whom remain true to our cause. The success of the Schlierachtaler remains focused on young people, who have a love for dance, music, and song. The youth have helped us to flourish and this is why the success of our Kindergruppe is so important, as it represents the future!

Look to this Web site - and be sure to sign up for our updates so you too can share in our vision!
